Jam-packed with the very best from British artisan makers, our deli counter boasts the great and the good of UK cheese.
Try a truckle of Tunworth (a British Camembert handcrafted in Hampshire) or Old Winchester, a delicious parmesan/cheddar/gouda cross from Wiltshire. Fancy something a little more local? St James, a stunning washed-rind Ewe’s cheese crafted at Holker Farm in the Southern Lake District, is a beauty. Or Oak Smoked Cumberland Farmhouse, hand made by Thornby Moor Dairy, just outside Carlisle, by Mother and Daughter team Carolyn and Leonie.
From our crunchiest Cheddar to a dense, creamy ‘Brie’ and everything in between – pop in, have a taste and we’ll help you build the perfect cheese board.

Charcuterie

After something with more bite? As well as cheese, you’ll find succulent cured meats in our counter too.
The staples… Iberico Chorizo, crafted with lean Iberico pork and smoky, sweet pimentón. Or Venison & Pork Salami (well, it’s a staple in our eyes) with deep Scottish venison and pork seasoned with subtle cracked black peppercorns. And everything else in between.
For something a little more special, try our Wagyu Beef Salami – crafted by Cobble Lane Cured with English Wagyu Beef. Or Fennel Salami created with Cornish Lop Pork and paired with gently smoked fennel seeds for a delicate aniseed flavour.

The Accompaniments

What’s a cheese & charcuterie platter without a few extra bits to munch on? You’ll find the classics of Quince Paste, local Farmhouse Chutney and crisp Sourdough Crackers. Or if you’re feeling completely decadent, slow-baked Dotatto Figs, with their treacly, molasses flavour. Or maybe freshly cut Honeycomb to pop on top of a slab of cheese.
Not forgetting our house made Pies, Sausage Rolls, Scotch Eggs and Pork Pies, there’s bound to be some goodies that take your fancy.

Colston Bassett Stilton

The best Stilton we could find! Crafted in Nottingham, this is one of the last remaining hand-ladled Stilton’s in existence, giving it a gloriously smooth and creamy texture. Rich and full flavoured, this is one cheese not to miss.
This modern classic features in our Cheesemonger’s Giftset too!

Baron Bigod ‘Brie’

Baron Bigod is the only raw milk Brie-de-Meaux style cheese made in the UK. It’s silken, unctuous and oh so tasty. Hand crafted at Fen Farm Dairy with their own Montbeliarde cow’s milk, it’s one not to miss out on and an absolute must for your cheese platter.
You’ll find this delight in our Cheeseboard Hamper.

Rachel Goats’ Cheese

Probably the most highly decorated cheese we have, Rachel has won more awards than you can shake a stick at. A semi-hard, rind washed cheese with a sweet, nutty flavour and smooth texture. Rumour has it that the maker named this cheese after an old flame – sweet, curvy and a little nutty.
If you fancy a slice delivered to your door, Rachel (the cheese not the woman) makes an appearance in our La’al Cheese Box – we promise you won’t be disappointed!
